For your consideration is this Southwestern-style ring featuring a large Golden Hills turquoise stone set in a decorative brushed sterling silver band. The striking stone is a periwinkle blue color and has a distinct beautiful brown or burnt umber matrix. The silver setting is crafted with a brushed finish with some oxidation and it includes traditional Southwestern decorative elements such as twisted rope details and stamped scalloped edges around the bezel. It is a gorgeous handmade piece, with an adjustable band, and its weight is 11.1 grams.
Please note that the ring shows a size 9.25 in the photos but again, it is very adjustable. The brushed sterling is smooth like glass on the back of the ring which is indicative of a high end well made ring.
Golden Hills turquoise is considered valuable due to a combination of factors related to its rarity, unique characteristics, and the challenges associated with its mining. It comes from the Altyn-Tyube deposit in Kazakhstan.
